Parents of Two
I definitely feel like this sometimes… and soon I’ll be a father of three. I’d love to see the cartoon version of that!
What Motivates Us
This flew around the department today. Cool, informative, and inspiring.
Bottle
Love this short film. Beautifully done!
Treehouse Studios – Episode 1 is up!
Check it out here: http://treehousestudios.wordpress.com/
We created this blog to make light of all that goes into making an animated feature. Since each event effects people differently, we thought we would tell our stories through the eyes of 4 contrasting animation stereotypes. Since each one of us closely resembles one of these personalities, we couldn’t help but make fun of ourselves.
DISCLAMER:
This blog is meant to be fun, and possibly educational. The events depicted in these movies are fictitious. Similarity to any person or studio, living or dead, is merely coincidental. Especially if it’s you we are making fun of!!!
P.S. By no means do we think we’re any good at this puppet stuff, we’re just having fun.
Greed
A very cool, but dark, AM short just released. Check it out, and congrats to Alli Sadegiani.
Mike Kunkel!
We just had a guest lecture at Blue Sky Studios and it was Mike Kunkel! He was so inspiring. Everyone walked out of there totally jazzed. If you’re unfamiliar with his work check out the below links. He’s one amazing artist/storyteller. Enjoy!

Check out the inspirational work that AM students are creating!
Pure Awesomeness!
If you’ve ever lived in or visited San Francisco this is pretty cool. Or if you just like Star Wars it’s pretty cool too.
Benny, Escaped Convict
So it has been ages since I posted last. My apologies. Life has been busy. This post is very important and I guess better late than never. My best bud from grad school at the Academy of Art, Nye Warburton, is venturing out and producing his own animated property. His first big project is a short animated series for Atom Films, Benny, Escaped Convict. Check it out and support the independent animator. Way to go Nye, super proud of you.

Can Fox stay on top?
Hard bargains reap hefty returns for studio
Ask production folks around Hollywood which studio is the most well-oiled machine, and you hear a unanimous answer: Fox.
Ask agents, managers and lawyers which studio is the most difficult to deal with and you also hear one answer: Fox.
The Twentieth Century Fox studio has been the market-share leader this year with successful, ultra-commercial fare — “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and “Horton Hears a Who.” But while it has major tentpoles set for next year, its summer slate seems a bit chancy. And insiders are wondering whether, in a business that’s proven cyclical by nature, Fox’s remarkable consistency can be upheld.

An Inspiring Speech by Steve Jobs
I found this will reading E-dog’s (Everett Downing) blog. It’s a pretty inspirational speech that Steve Jobs gave at Stanford’s graduation. Definitely worth a listen, check it out.
ILM on Conan
A couple of great guys whom I worked with at ILM recently made it onto Conan. Check out this hilarious clip as Conan visits ILM’s new studios in the Presidio of San Francisco. Charles Alleneck and Kevin Martel are the featured animators. I haven’t seen them since I left ILM, kinda crazy to see then on Conan first. nuf said, watch for a good laugh.
Reels Are Up
Ok, all my reels are up and links to friends and fellow animators are posted to the right. Unfortunately, I won’t have any new reels until after Horton comes out next year. So it will be a bit of a dry spell, but I hope to post here with other interesting things that I hear about through co-workers and maybe some work in the life of Blue Sky kind of thing. Who knows, we’ll see.
Starting Out
So I’ve finally decided to jump on this blog bandwagon thing. Mostly because I don’t have the time to update my other site and I want something simple and easy to manage. We’ll see how this goes. Over the next several days I’ll continue to update “My Pages” so that I have the same content that I had on my other site and hopefully a bit more. Enjoy, ciao for now.
